Best Anime Vanguards Support Units

Compare Anime Vanguards support units by buff, crowd control, cleanse, debuff, Range, uptime, stacking, placement, mode, and team fit.

The best Anime Vanguards support unit is the one whose effect improves your current team under the current mode’s rules. Support includes buffs, debuffs, crowd control, cleansing, healing or protection, Range extension, cooldown help, and mechanic-specific utility. A support can be top tier even when its personal Damage is low.

Current support shortlist

Public Update 14.5-window lists place names such as Graceful Pilot (Mecha), History’s Strongest, Armored Mage (Requip), Cursed Lawyer (Tired), Cursed Doctor (Healer), World Destroyer (Old), Reckless Gambler (Cursed), and Toji (Sorcerer Killer) in support comparisons. Crowd-control lists also feature Elastic Captain (Cog 5th), Today’s Strongest, Today’s Strongest vs History’s Strongest, God (Standless), Chaso (Blood Curse), Alocard (Vampire King), and others.

These are community rankings, not official grades. Use the names as a current shortlist and verify the exact effect, form, source, and team condition in the Codex.

Buff support

Buffers increase the team’s output or coverage. Place them where the most important carries benefit, then compare the team’s real clear time. A Range support is valuable when it reaches another path section or more towers; extra Range with no new coverage is weaker.

Check whether the buff affects one group, element, player, unit type, or all allies. Confirm whether it changes manual abilities and summons. Do not assume every percentage multiplies independently.

Crowd control and debuffs

Slow, stun, freeze, repulse, vulnerability, and other debuffs buy additional attacks or amplify damage. Measure enemy travel distance and uptime. A boss or modifier can resist or ignore the effect, so keep a damage alternative.

If two control units overwrite rather than stack, stagger their effects. In multiplayer, coordinate manual abilities. A shorter reliable cycle can be better than a spectacular long cooldown.

Cleansers and mechanic support

Some Raids and Dungeons disable or weaken placed units. Public Raid documentation includes Snare that prevents attacks until cleansed. Bring a cleanser early enough to act and place it where the affected area is reachable. Test the exact effect because not every “cleanse” removes every status.

Worldlines can require element support, while Gauntlet and PvP can use distinct trait or modifier rules. A specialist moves up the list when the mode demands it.

Traits and stats for support

Choose traits by the effect. Range or Marksman can help a local aura; Swift or Blitz can help an attack-applied debuff; a multi-stat trait can help a support that also damages. Monarch’s placement restriction must be compared with the number of support copies normally used.

Individual Range and SPA ranks may matter more than Damage. Do not spend for a perfect Damage roll on a unit whose job is global utility. Use Best Traits for the fit.

Build order

Stabilize with a carry, then deploy support when it affects enough finished or nearly finished damage to repay the cost. Upgrade support to the breakpoint that unlocks the required effect. Do not max it automatically while the main carry lacks a decisive upgrade.

Support test notes

Save the support’s placement count, range overlap, effect icon, trigger time, duration, cooldown, and which carries receive it. Run the same wave without the support and compare team completion, not only card stats. Repeat after any mode modifier changes. This record reveals whether the slot creates real value or merely looks active.

Support FAQ

Is support useful in solo play?

Yes. A single support can improve several carries or solve a mechanic, but it must justify its slot and cost.

Is crowd control always better than damage?

No. It is valuable only when enemies are affected and the extra time produces useful attacks.
